Cliff Fishing: An exercise in brazen expectation

Have you ever fished from a cliff? Where the option to wade back to shore is no longer available? I sit and hope either the fish are going to bite or a helicopter is going to conveniently drop a line.

Step by step, my mind’s eye watches her advance.

(Graceful and lithe, dreams have the right.)

Seas flow cool with occupants circumspect and hungry.

Keenly aware of circling company, she takes a deep breath then another step.

Expecting the obvious, she claims her last words…

“Bite me!”
